Romans 8
28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.
30 Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.

An escape frm the citystate - Taipei City!

It's always great to go back to Taipei again, and I always feel so at home there ;) I guess the people whom we interact with in a city do make a difference.

Months ago Jetstar was having some incredible promotion, that's how I got my flights to Taipei for less than SGD 300, return, all in. I would like to see some dear friends before I fly to US. Also, I miss the food in Taiwan a lot. I just cant get enough of them ;p

After my trip was scheduled, I landed an internship after ;) What's good about it is, I can work frm home, so it does mean that I can work frm anywhere in the world, with proper internet and my Macbook. It does need some discipline though ;p

I always cant have enough time to meet all my friends in Taiwan, because there are just too many, and they're scattered all over that island. Of the people I met:-

Regina, Little Zebra, Swallow & family in I-lan
Regina & Ms Grass at Luodong nightmarket in I-lanSylvia, Guo Jie, Bing, Qiqi and Efing! - look at the food I've got on my hands ;p We conquered the whole Keelung Miao Kou nightmarket ;p
Lulu at her office
You Da Ge in his office ;) Definitely pray that he'll be well soon. One of my dear friends who treats me like his daughter ;p
Pei and Yujen. I've known Yujen for over 7 years now and I havent met her till now. How time flies ey!
Regina, Lili & husband, and Cherry - We celebrated Lili's birthday in HsinZhu.
ASES Taiwan! Stephen, Lily, Ray, Xiao You, Vincent, June and Herb ;p Can't be happier to meet old friends.
Anita, she couldn't make it to the ASES reunion ;p So we went to Raohe nightmarket on a date lol.Mikey and Jossy! Here's a nice Italian restaurant and we did our recordings in here so that the rest of the crew frm around the world can see us on Facebook, haha.
Karmun, who's in National Taiwan University on exchange!
So I've been to 3 cities in about 10 days, that's amazing ey. Haha. I worked during day time and had dinner with different people every evening, and traveled into other cities over the weekend. The people and the food have made my trip worthwhile, and it made it hard for me to leave the city ;p Like I've told all of you, I've gained 4kgs through my 10-day trip there ;p Penang and Taipei are my favourite cities because I cant get such delicous food anywhere else!

Hannnnnnah!

I've been rather busy after the semester ended. Started work for a bit right after the last exam, and now I'm officially doing an internship with the US company which I will work with when I am there ;p

Over the weekend, I hosted a friend from Sydney, Hannah. She's actually a friend of Jani's, and more importantly, a lovely sister in Christ. We spent 2 days exploring the citystate and we had mighty fun. Walking around the streets in Geylang can be scary, but I feel sad for the girls standing by the streets. Imagine what God must be feeling to see them in this state. That reminds me of the song This Is Our God. Louie told us the story of the song during the Passion Kuala Lumpur last year. The song came to an Irish worship band, Bluetree, when they were on a mission trip to Pattaya. For greater things have yet to come, and greater things are still to be done, in this city. God is able to work beyond our imagination, our limits, and our comprehension :)

Apart from that, I made Hannah try the frog porridge. Her expression was classic. Haha. It tasted good of course, but she almost couldnt take it when we took a look at the frogs that were still alive in the shop. Haha. The frogs were adorable, really, but to think that one of them is actually in our tummy, it didnt feel good. Haha.

I was gonna leave for Taipei on Monday, glad that Joseph and some other girls frm other caregroups were able to bring her around for the remaining 3 days. But yea, she kept telling me that the people here are very generous. I would say, that's because she met us! Hahah! ;p

Happy Mother's Day

Yea! And I've got quite a few mothers. Of course I gave my mom a call. As usual, she asked me not to run everywhere. Yea, she meant, I should just be good and stay in Singapore. But I really need a vacay. Need to get a break frm this citystate for a bit. I havent got away for a while now, this is not healthy. Hehe ;p My god-mummy on the other hand, completely understands that I need a break frm work. So it's good to have 2 moms who oppose each other ya.

Here in Singapore, I have a third Canadian mom. We spent the beautiful Saturday afternoon at Starbucks. Yes, here she is, pretending to read Chinese word because she has a Chinese daughter. Haha.
We had some luxurious dinner at Ding Tai Feng!
The xiao long bao were definitely yummmy nice.
Dom and his family flew into Singapore on Sunday. It's so good to see him after so long! We planned to kidnap him for dinner as soon as he touched down, but it didnt quite work out, because Wout's mom made a reservation at none other than PS Cafe for the 2 families already. So Rachel and I wanted to meet up for dinner, and we hoped that the kids can join us after they're done with the family dinner.

But there's a change of plan in the end. Rachel and I ended up joining the 2 families for family dinner. It's so good to be back there again, the same old crew. We celebrated Wout's birthday there 2 years ago, and Dom's folks were there too. Dom's mom said, it's funny to see where all of us end up being after 2 years.
The folks trying to play with the camera
The kids sitting at the other end
We had a great mother's day dinner. Dom's parents and Wout's parents are incredibly nice. I was totally surprised that they actually still remember my name! Dom's dad said sometimes our pictures showed up on his PC, as screensaver. Ha, that reminded me of the good old times. He took quite some pictures of us when we had a BBQ in their condo 2 years back. How time flies ey ;)

Yuta's in town - okay, long ago ;p

Yes yes yes! Finally the Japanese kid is back in town! I'm jealous, yes I am. He hasnt quite stopped traveling around. And I'm jealous, because he got to see Devika first! It's quite unacceptable. Really.

But yea, he got himself a D90 and he improved tremendously during his semi-world trip. Before he left for Europe and the States, he barely had any idea how to play with his kid. And we saw many many gorgeous pictures when he got back to Singapore again. Anyways, it's reallllly good to see him again after 2 years!

Finally visited the National Geographic Store! Wohooo!
Hello our incomplete family photo
This is my church. The pretty well known queue-up church ;p
One of the random things, yes, went to see Tony Blair! Haha ;p
This is Blair's bodyguard. I swear he was staring right at me when I took this shot. Haha. He looked like he's gonna come get me for taking a picture of him!! Haha!

As the semester ended

It's been 1 weeks since my finals ended, yet I havent found time to blog! Things have been good so far, except for the fact that I'm a little too busy. Finals went okay, thank God :)
As soon as I ended the semester officially, I was welcomed home by Gustavo. Yes, Gustavo is the Nikon D700 boy. Carli has been busy with papers so I am honored to babysit him for a bit ;p It was a nice way to wrap up the semester. Haha.
The semester went exceptionally well as I have written before. Just the other day, Elaine told me that she observed that I have been listening to Christian songs almost all the time this semester, unlike previously I listened many other genres of music. That's a rather fine observation I guess.
I had a long list of projects in the beginning of semester which I had no idea how I was gonna go through the entire list. I'm more than glad that His strength is enough. The worship music and the word keep me going, literally.
All in all, I just can't be more thankful for His provision.
Couple of the pictures through the final few crazy weeeeeeks! We sure had fun even though we had stayed through the nights in the lab ;p
First game project. Our boardgame is showcased in the office! YAY!
Second game project where we created a 3D computer game ;p
The storybook, which we managed to produced within the really limited time given
That's a piece of artwork. Fantastic.
Yet, Facebook is a necessary procrastination.
Working on the visual special effects project through the night!
Yes, we worked through the night in the lab, and had our presentation in the morning!
