Honestly, we had an incredible attendance of 26/30! It's our 3rd year since we left high school, it's really heart-warming to see so many of you again tonight!

Thanks Soo Guan and Zenian for keeping everyone informed, and the effort of making sure that everyone turns up. I'm sorry to have to call for a reunion sooner, because school starts again on Wednesday in Singapore. So we can't have it on the 4th night as we promised ;)

I'm totally flattered to see all of you guys! Great time catching up, filling each other in. Oh and we got to tease each other again ;p Though I didnt really get to talk to everyone, but I am sure that all of us had fun, that should suffice.

Thanks for turning up this evening, it means the world to many of us I believe.

OK. I'm back to Penang again, for Chinese New Year.
The internet at home is so much slower than I expected. I guess it's because everyone is home for CNY, and causes the congestion. I actually have to get a few assignments done, but the internet isn't really helping. Oh Screamyx.

I've met some relatives today already. Great time catching up. And I saw my little handsome boy finally!! Haha. Missed him when I was back for Christmas. We had much fun playing PS together.

My mom insisted to go shopping today. I specifically told her that I'm good like this, and I dont really need any new shirts and pants for the new year. The main reason being, I dont want to bring more clothes back to Singapore. It will be a disaster when I move. When I was packing the night before, I told Amy, "I can totally imagine my mom screaming at me when she looks at the tees that I bring home for CNY." She couldn't agree more. Haha.

So anyways, my mom made my try on 15 pants and tees in total. She's so totally out of her mind, lol. You probably can't imagine how chaotic it was to have lugged 15 pieces of pants and tees into the fitting room. I had a hard time trying to hang everything against the wall.
Mom ended up buying 4 pairs of pants and 2 tees for me. I hope I wont need to bring all of them back to Singa >.< Honestly, I would rather she keeps the money in a Nikonfund for me :D

Damn door at PL6, COM1

Yes, it's the door at Programming Lab 6 (PL6) in COM1.
It just doesnt close properly and the alarm will beep whenever someone gets in or out of the lab!!
It's really super annoying because I'm the person sitting at the last row and I have to go close the door properly whenever the alarm beeps!!

DAMN IT!

First of all, the door itself is quite stupid because it doesnt function properly as it should.
Second of all, the people are idiotic! You cant just assume that every door closes itself and walk away like this.
OK, for people who come into the lab, maybe it's not their fault. We dont expect some stupid door at all times.
But for people who have been staying in the lab and hearing the damn beeps, they just didn't bother when they got out of the lab too!! GGrrrrhhhhh......

I ended up putting this on the handle - but not everyone sees the message either :s
Actually, I wanted to write-

Hello idiots, please close the door properly before leaving.

But I think I should be nice and name the door idiot instead.

DAMN IT!

PS: I put the message up after I patiently helped 100 people closed the damn door. Now I realize where my limit is. I'm not as patience as I thought :o

It's been quite an amazing day ;)

At noon, I got a text from a random +41 number. Google told me that it's a Swiss number. And it's my white chocolate!! Haha! Havent heard Christian for a while now- it's really unexpected! ;p Hopefully we can Skype some time, we've been trying to schedule something for the past 2 years. But we ended up resorting to emails ;pSoon after, I saw Devika started a thread on Facebook, and we heard from Dom and Ed. I'm praying that the mega plan will come true. It will mean so much to me if it works out :) Dom is right, it's called the "International Penny Day".

I talked to my godmummy briefly over Gtalk before I left for school. I told her how I wanted a D80 and my mom doesn't say yes yet. Haha.

After the band practice at night, I went for supper with 3 of my bandmates. After eating at Al-Ameen, we walked to the McDonalds at King Albert Park. We spent the night talking and playing guitar ;) It's precious. I am not sure if we will be able to do that again during the semester, but I'm certainly glad that we got to spend some quality time together, and we really got to know each other better.

At about 3am, I got a text. I was thinking who's it that's not asleep yet at this hour?! Turned out it's Cat!! Haha ;p She's heading to London for the weekend. Yupppy. Miss the dolphin ;p

Today, I talked to Devika over Skype at about 12pm! I missed her twice during Christmas, felt awfully sorry about that. But yea, glad that we finally made it today! The internet was acting up a little but I'm really happy that we got to talk again today. Said Hi to her mom even! ;p I'm encouraging her to keep a blog or something, because she's been doing so many wonderful things.

I always thank God for the wonderful people in my life ;) It's been a lovely day, and I have been smiling the whole day, literally.

Karmun's gonna leave for Taipei in about 2 weeks time ;)

Carol, CS, Karmun and I got together for the first time after almost 2 months!!

As we branch into different fields, we hardly take the same modules anymore. And that makes it hard for us to see each other, really. Missed those times when we always went to classes and had our day done together ;)

Felt just great to get to catch up again - when the Malaysians get together, we will just talk and laugh out loud, hardly are we considerate of people around us ;p I guess it's something we carry in us.

It's a soft-farewell for Karmun. Guess we'll get together again before she flies to Taipei ;)

I'm generally interested in all the modules. Especially excited about GEK1054, because the course is offered by Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music! I've always wanted to invade that space. Haha. The other modules are quite interesting as well.

Oh yea, I didn't get the CS5245 until today. The appeal is approved! Praise God!! :D:D

One thing funny about it is, in the notification email that I got, it says-
Your Program account is now bankrupt.

Haha! Well, it's an NUS thing. I've got no more points left in my Program Account! Hehe ;p Just find it funny that they actually use the word "bankrupt".

Jessica from ASES Maquarie is in town for a few days. We sort of brought her around the city last night. We had fun talking about the past summits, our own chapters, and many other random things.

Benny is another ASES Macquarie alumni who's back in Singapore for good now. Definitely should get together some time as Kim frm ASES Manila is here too! One of the rare ASES outings we've got nowadays ;p

Whirlwind trip to Kuala Lumpur

I think I've fully utilized my 30 hours in KL ;p I'm so glad to have met up with my families and some friends ;p And I bumped into some of the most random people right in the city! Cant believe that ey.

First, I bumped into a family friend whom I havent seen for a year! Hehe ;p
Then my brother and sister came to pick me up, and we had a good lunch in Carl's Jr. As reminded by my mom, brother and a friend, I didn't spite my sister, lol. We had a good talk over lunch ;)

I spent some time with my dearest laugh-non-stop in Sunway Pyramid. It's lovely to get to see her before she leaves for Australia. Totally love how we could talk for like 2 hours :o If I didnt have the dinner appointment, we probably could go on till night I believe. Hehe ;p
Anne, Nee and Han came over for dinner at about 7pm. Nee came over right after her bus trip from Penang. I'm well touched. Hehe ;p The last time that 4 of us got together was in end of May I think. It's been a while since we got to catch up with each other ;) I still find it precious that we are still keeping a room in our hearts for each other. It takes effort to grow a relationship, and I believe that it reaps sweet harvest.
Thenghui brought me out for brunch and we went camera shopping with his friends. Ahh... they are getting D90. I know what I want, a D80. But my mom doesnt seem to allow me to get one yet. Argh.. We went to a few shops around the city and the more you look at the camera, the more you feel like getting it! Haha ;p D80, it's a really really lovely boy. I will keep praying that my mom will say YES one day ;p

And my final appointment was with my darling Qing Mei's (which means, friends whom I grew up with). Mingmin and Shushen waited for me in Mid Valley for a bit ;p It was totally awesome to get to see them again and just spend some time talking. 3 of us pretty much knew each other since birth. Our families went travelling together when we were still kids. And the 2 sisters are still as lovely as ever ;) Ah and I bumped into Andrew in Mid Valley too!! That's rather random.
After the end of the catch-up galore, I headed to KLIA to catch my flight at 9.20pm. I'm thankful that they are able to spare like 2-3 hours to spend with me. I guess as I grow bigger, I tend to love seeing a friend or two, instead of hanging out in a big group. That way we're able to talk better. It's a sign of aging I guess. Haha ;p Of course I still love hanging out with a group of friends, but I also love the quality time when you spend with one individual or two. One of the sweetest weekends I've had ;)
There are some other friends whom I would love to catch up with, I can't seem to see everyone in the short 1.5 days though. Till then, guess I'll have to start scheduling my next trip back to KL! Haha ;p

Decemer has been awesome

December is a month of blessing and giving ;)
It's my first December here in Singapore. After 3 fabulous Decembers in Taiwan, I was a little reluctant initially to make the decision to stay here over the holiday, mainly because most of my friends are away. Now that the month has come to past, as I look back, I start to see the reasons God made me stay in Singapore ^^

Internship has been great ;)
Managed to spend a fair bit of time with a wonderful friend.
And also got the chance to bless a few friends in different ways.
Got to spend more time with my caregroup mates this time round too.
I was home for Christmas. It's lovely to be able to get together with my families again. My little brother got baptized too!
New year eve was amazing. Got together with some friends and we watched fireworks by the river. Cat texted me right at 12am, our time.

Though I overspent a lot in December, I still think that it's great to be able to be a blessing to them :D
Really thank God for the wonderful times I've had with my families and friends. Loveliness.

End of the internship

It has been a great one month working with the sailors.

Working in a startup is really fun. You can get overloaded with work sometimes, ultimately the environment is pretty cool. You get to shout across cubicles, and laugh out loud sometimes. Your boss is like your friend. More importantly, they are always encouraging and always forgiving. Everyone's thought will be listened and considered.

Totally thankful for this opportunity given to me over the holiday ;)

The people whom I work with in the office-

Leon is the boss who came frm the same major as I do. So he offered quite some valuable insights and advices :) He totally understands the kind of background I'm coming from.

Wayne is another boss whom I've worked with. Glad to have a boss who shares the same faith as I do. That's why we got to celebrate Christmas in the office.

I get to learn a little bit about photography from Ling who's a photographer. I want to be like her! Haha! But I should get myself a D80 first before I embark on the journey ;p

An is my senior who has been helping me fairly much all along. He's been so kind to me and I've gotta thank him for helping me to get this internship.

Rex, well he's been in China so I dont really get to work with him much. He's quite a character too though, very funny and comical.

Genie is my neighbor desinger. Yes, designer. She works with Photoshop. I think it's something I would love to do too. Hehe ;p Ashley is a new addition to the family.

Rujie is the programmer. He's doing what I won't do. Haha. And CS is the intern too!

Breakthrough

So remember how I was saying that my caregroupmates and I, are like acquaintance? After church today, Cecelia and I had dinner and we actually had a long long talk. I'm glad that we had that conversation, because we talked about things we otherwise wouldnt have the opportunities to share with each other.

Some of the thoughts which I have had in my mind for a while now, I finally got the chance to share with her. It's one of the really rare occasions where we both can sit in at night without needing to rush off anytime soon. We probably dont get to do that during term time, because then all of us will be busy with school work.

Thank God for such a sweet fellowship :)
Taking one step at a time. Like Michelle said, things will only get brighter and brighter!

I spent the first day of the year

quiet. Haha ;p It's not too bad. I've been really really busy over the past weeks and didnt really get to sit at home to do something.

I spent the afternoon deciding what modules should I bid for. I think I'm gonna take 4 core modules, 2 of them are level 4 and above. It's so gonna be a tough semester which only God's grace can bring me through! I believe that it will be great :D

Wanted to go to the town for a stroll in the evening but it started raining a little. So I ended up having dinner with Anne and she came over till 11pm. We played guitar and sang for a bit, haha ;)

As we enter into the year 2009, let's expect it to be a great year! Happy New Year!
