Romans 8
28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.
30 Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.

Happy Birthday

Uncle JJ, a very special friend of mine. A really quiet guy, which is the total opposite of me! Haha ;)

So I met up with JJ and Nel today. And we celebrated JJ's birthday at AMK Hub. Oh what a cool place for birthday hey, hahah.

Anyways it was great to see these 2 old friends again. It's been a year since I last saw JJ, and I havent seen Nel for half a year too. Had quite a good catch up. Hopefully it won't be long till we see each other again!

ASES Summer Camp was a

blast!

Cash Flow was a super chaotic game.
Company visits turned out to be really cool - Genometri, Settlers & Stikfas. Felt really honourede to get to listen to Settlers & Stikfas' founders. Genometri's techy guy wasn't that bad too.

BBQ was uber fun! Thanks to Changyan, I finally understand why people have mashmallows during BBQ. It doesnt only taste good with fondue only apparently!

Ha. Will write more about it later! Totally love it!

"You are THE rock!"

...said the freshmen. Hahah!
They were so thankful to the seniors who helped them so much in putting this whole orientation camp up.
So the freshmen organized this BBQ for all of us.
We had mighty fun over the NUSMSL BBQ!
Had the chance to catch up with a lot of the Malaysian friends.
After the BBQ, we actually stayed back for 2 hours just to play some lame games. I'm all enthusiastic about those lame jokes now - I've learnt some new ones! Yeah! Haha.

Yes, after all the hoo haa - time to get back to reality.

What's coming up?
ASES Summer Camp 2007 and YOUth Vibes!

Oh work... so much of work... Hahah ;)

Oh what a posh dinner

It's Wout's birthday!

We had dinner at this really nice PS Cafe@ Dempsey Road.
And the cakes are definitely ridiculous. For one moment I thought that chocolate was resistible! Haha. We had so much chocolate and nearly got choco-drunk! It's as though we're gonna pass out anytime if we had more of the cake. Haha. It was really nice though.

Min and Dom were doing some silly act as this nice bar which we chilled at after the dinner.

Regional Youth Counselling Symposium

I was made the emcee of Regional Youth Counselling Symposium (July 11-15) organized by Metropolitan YMCA. Even though it's tiring travelling to town everyday at 7am, it's a great experience nonetheless. I'm glad that I'm given the chance to meet a lot social workers who have contributed so much to the youths.

The professors from around the region, China, HK, Macau and Taiwan, presented their research papers, showing that youth crime is an issue worth all the attention. As the youth crime rate is increasing, in almost everywhere in this region, it's encouraging to see that different organizations are working towards the same goal - to bring up a better generation of youth.

A lot of them actually thought that I was from Taiwan because of my accent when I speak in Mandrin. Haha. The most-asked question was, "Where did you learn your Mandrin from then?" I gave credits to my good friends from Taiwan! Haha. It's been great meeting new friends and most of all, I learnt a lot from the entire event. And I'm amazed at how complete the social work in Hong Kong has developed, and other places are gaining a lot from Hong Kong as a model.

Singaland yet again

So I move around quite a bit for this summer -
SIN-REP-PNH-SGN-SIN-KUL-PEN-SIN-PEN-SIN
SIN is Singapore, Singapore,

REP is Siem Reap, Cambodia,
PNH is Pnom Penh, Cambodia,
SGN is Saigon, Vietnam,
KUL is Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia,
PEN is Penang, Malaysia
It's been pretty quiet back in Singapore. Not many of my Malaysian friends are back here yet, those exchange kids have left, my coursemates are still back in hometown. So I decided that talking to walls ain't that fun after all. I hang out with those ASES crew only it seems, and yea, I do see people in church, haha!

I've been coming to the lab everyday, because it's just too warm in the room ;) And I felt so bad to have to crash into Jinro's room. Have to get a place to crash into after mid July. Anyone? Haha XD

Anyways I've been pretty much working on YOUth Vibes and some ASES' events.
YOUth Vibes is gonna happen on the 8th of September, at Metropolitan YMCA. Are you gonna come? Say yes please, we're calling out to all the youths in Singapore! Haha.

As for ASES, we're currently recruiting as well! So if you're interested in entrepreneurship, come join us! We need people, cool people!

SIN - PEN (June 19)

So I was home again for a week. Was spoilt with lots of treats again by families, god-mummy, and ex-colleagues and friends. Juru Autocity has become hangout placee for Penangites. I went there like 4 times within the week that I was home.
Went to The Manhattan Fish Market with my ex-colleagues on the day that I got back ;)
Had lunch with 2 girlfriends at the Seoul Garden Restaurant, it wasn't that great though.
Had dinner at Tao with god-mummy and family. The food was so nice, and the service was uber cool! Totally loved it. Ha, and we ate so much, so much. I myself was amazed by what I had eaten! Haha.
And finally I met Shin Hung at Swensen before I left for Singapore.

Oh and I had supper at a Dim Sum place with my 2 qingmei's, Ming Ming and Shu Shen. My 2 lovely friends whom I grew up with! Her mom and my mom have been good friends as well.

Apart for the nice food, I spent some quality time with mom and cousins as well ;p That was priceless! =D So it's all about food and people. And I hardly got any work done at home, thanks to my crappy
Dell. So that does mean that I had a lot to catch up when I get back to Singapore! Haha.

PEN - SIN (15 June)

Had 2 meetings scheduled back in Singapore. So I came back to Singapore for 6 days. It was week well spent with some friends. Read a bit, learnt a lot. Talked a bit, heard a lot. Understood a bit, thought a lot. It's so inspiring, as always. I thank God that I've met you ;)
PS : It's taken at City Hall, a 3D picture painted on the floor!

KUL - PEN (June 10)

Home was great minus the crappy Dell. Was supposed to get online to get some work done but yes, the Dell took forever to load any single thing. Apart from that, everything else was good - spending time with family, learning that my lil brother has gotten a lot more hard-to-be-controlled (hehe ;p) and catching up with cousins.

The church back home is so beautiful now. The bond in Christ is still there despite the fact that we were hardly been in touch when I'm in Singapore. The people from GYF - It's so good to see you guys again, and I'm glad that the conversations could go on just like that! Haha. One thing I regret about is that I didnt have time to go mamak with you guys! Ah, those good old time ;p

And my girlfriends are as crazy as ever. Haha. Spent a good night out. Felt good to laugh out loud with them again. So all 5 of us are still single. What's going on? Ha ;) So here's our deal - the first among us to get a boyfriend will have to treat us for a meal. Haha. Let's see who will win the bet, haha. Oh and we celebrated Khim's pre-birthday!

Girlfriends @ Kim Gary, from left - SN, Sang, Penny, Khim, Ee Yee

And also I met up with some friends frm the prefectorial board. There were supposed to b 8 people but only 5 ended up turning up. I demand a full attendance next time! Haha! It was a good get-together nonetheless. These are the friends with whom I've gone through thick and thin together. Ha, the days when we led the board. Precious memories!

ASES Outing - Settler's Cafe, where you find all the boardgames

After all my meetings, I finally decided to go back to Malaysia. Apparently when I wanted to go home, the whole world wasn't gonna be in Penang. WHAT?! So we ended up having some family gathering in KL. It was great to see my family and cousins again after so long after all. And we had so much fun eating! It felt so good to spend money in MYR again. Haha.

One of the things that I could never get in Singapore XD
