Romans 8
28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.
30 Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.

Geek Terminal's launch

Went to the Geek Terminal's launch just now. It's such a cool & techy cafe. Thanks to Geek Terminal for inviting The Digital Movement to the launch!

So, there were so many people there. A lot of professionals.

"Hi, my name is so-and-so. You are?"
"Hi, I'm Penny."
"Oh Penny, nice to meet you! Which company are you from?"
"Erh... (chuckle) Hehe, I'm still studying, in NUS."

I'm actually frm few companies - ASES, TDM, and NUS. Haha.

Oh and thanks to Danny, the COO of Geek Terminal, that I got few cups of iced chocolate! Specially made for me, yay!
Oopps, it's meant to be a secret XD

Had an awesome Sunday

The meeting with the YOUth Vibes (YV) team was good today. At least, we have figured out how should we go about our programmes. We have to work harder on venue and grant application though. We'll make a difference in this society, through this project. Yes, we strive for a change!
The YVians

Oh and I went to 4th service today. It's been 3 weeks since I last went to church, cause I was away - was backpacking in Cambodia and Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon). I missed church, really. It felt so good to be in the presence of God once again. So loved, so loved. Had dinner with my care group mates (CGmates, or what we call caregrouppies, haha). It was a good one!
I had been really busy over the past semester, and I didn't spend time with the CGmates, which makes me miss out on a lot. I know deep down that I wanna know them better, to be closer-knitted.
Selene reminded me today that God's blessings will never take me away frm God's house. I've made it to go to church every week when I'm in Singapore, I could have made it to every CG meeting as well ;p Yes, by God's grace, I can make it!

I met up with Eereh for a bit and she gave me a tight hug. She's so depressed as she going back to UK tomorrow. We'll spend some time catching up tomorrow as Cat is already back from traveling now. Cat is going back to UK soon too, I dont want her to leave! :p
Next semester is going to be so different for me as all of my friends on exchange here would have left. No leftover anymore. It's hard. I got on so well with Devika, then Cat, and also the rest of the amazing people in the group. On the brighter note, it would be fun to see people flying across the oceans to visit each other.

So, what have made my one year in NUS so great?
NUSMSL, which is a home away frm home
the crazy exchange kids, who have showed me so much
the 5 non-seperable coursemates, with whom I've gone through so much
ASES crew, which is my first love
TDM geeks, whose never-dying passion
New Creation Church, where I get the good feeding
lovely CGmates, who made me settle down in NCC
and Facebook, so addictive!

Thankful, thankful, thankful to Daddy God! >.<

This is probably the 3rd time I'm saying this today, and I want to say it again.
I've experienced so much, and learnt so much here. And I often think about my friends frm back home. Is there any way that I can channel all these blessings back to them? It's just so hard. Do people care to walk out of the comfort zone to see new things though? Often I wished they were here to walk this journey with me ^^

PS: Selene, Cui, and other church leaders are going to Israel tomorrow. Remember 'em in prayer- that God'll watch over them.

Random updates from Singaland

Had a meeting at SMU just now, it was so great to see the ASES crew again!
And I'm seeing Mei Fen next week, I'm so excited about it. It's been ages since I saw her.

I'm thinking of starting a travel blog, to pen down the places that I've been to properly. Hehe. Like I always say, the world is my playground.

What do I really want to do in life?
I want to go to the world, if God says yes! Haha. Who doesnt like to travel right?

So, where's my next destination?
Malaysia. I kinda promised everyone that I would be home in end of May, but it seems I can't go home until early June. Well, we'll see how things work out. I will definitely be home to spend time with family, friends and also, to eat all the food that I've been deprived from! Haha.

After 1 year in NUS

So, I've finished 1 year in NUS. It's been a great year. A year full of God's blessings.
I've experienced so much, and I've learnt so much.
To God be all the glory- for all the great friends, and fantastic people who have walked into my life.
I know it's not about me, but it's about me being the reflector of God's goodness on earth.
I'm just His child, a blessed child of God.

I am so MAD at SingTel

I dont like SingTel. Not even a tiny bit.
I would terminate my contract right away if I had a choice.

I've had enough of it.

Email dated May 2, 2007
To whom it may concern,

I've got a Dmobo phone which is faulty and I would like to send in for service.
I am highly disappointed over this recent incident.

First, I called Cust Service (1626) to ask where should I send my phone to for repair. She told me to go to the manufacturer directly.

I called the Dmobo number printed on the warranty card but no one picked up.

I called 1626 again to seek for assistance, I was then told that Dmobo has moved to Tagore Drive and she gave me the new address. I required for the number but she said that the phone number is the same.

I asked the operator to check the phone number again as I told her that no one was picking the phone. I told her that I wanted to confirm whether it's fine for me to send the phone in to their company at Tagore as it's really time consuming for me to travel all the way there.
The operator reassured me that Dmobo is closed only on Saturdays, Sudays and public holidays. So it's absolutely fine for me to send my phone in today (May 2 afternoon).
I trusted her, which later I realized it was a disastrously wrong choice, and headed to Tagore.

When I got to the Tagore Industrial Building, I was informed that they no longer provide services for faulty phones.
The lady referred me back to any Hello! shop.

I had to come all the way back to Hello! shop at Westmall. I wasted 4 hours for nothing just because of that.

1. I wanted to call Hello! shop to ask about it but I couldn't get any phone numbers in the Singtel website. I ended up calling 1626 which gave me wrong information. May I know if I should be calling 1626 but not Hello! shop in the first place? And that's why Singtel doesnt display the phone numbers of the Hello! shops on the website?

2. Why weren't the operaters able to provide accurate information? It was so time consuming that it took me 4 hours to go to and come back from Tagore. I don't see the reason why I should waste this 4 hours. (I'm sorry but I didn't remember the names of the operators. I never expected that I would ever need to suspect the information given by them)

3. Why couldn't the Singtel website provide up-to-minute accurate information? I checked through the Equipment Service Centre page, I couldn't even find Dmobo in there. I understand that this may be a special case but I think you should clarify it somewhere.

4. Who should I trust if the information given by operators is not reliable? If Singtel educates its customers not to trust Singtel, would you think it will do good to Singtel's reputation?

I am highly disappointed. It would be great if you could provide an explaination for all that have happened.

Thanks,
Penny

Dear SingTel,

I am REALLY upset about SingTel's customer service.

So, I went to Hello! shop at Westmall yesterday and Mr Simon Chee said that SingTel will replace the whole set of Dmobo phone for me.
I was told that I had to surrender the complete set including each cable, the box, etc. I didn't have that with me, so I asked if I could come again the next day (which is today, May 3, 2007).
I asked if they have stocks in Hello! shop. He told me that there were 14 sets and they never sold out all in a day.
In other words, it's safe for me to go again today and get the phone replaced.

I went to Hello! shop at Westmall again today, together with the complete accessories. To my utmost disappointment, Ms Bobby told me apparently they have sent all the sets back to the company the night before. And SingTel will call me up to inform me when they have got the set of cellphone from Dmobo. And she didn't know how long would that take.

I didn't know what else can I say. What else could I do? I was just a customer. I asked if they could take down my details so that SingTel knows that there's this valued exists that she needs her phone exchanged. I was hoping that the next time I go to Hello! shop, they would know that I need to exchange my faulty phone, and SingTel has it arranged for me.

Shortly after I left, I got a call from Hello! shop. I was already reaching Clementi MRT station. I was asked if I could go back to the shop to have my receipt photocopied. Did I have a choice? The manager needed my receipt for some official used or whatsoever.

Right, it's great that I never got my problem sorted after 1 visit to Tagore and 3 visits to Hello! shop. I don't know what's wrong with this whole thing. I am not trying to find fault. I just needed an explaination and an answer to my problem.
Just tell me what should I do, all at once, not bit by bit.

How much more time and money do I have to waste
to get this sorted out?

Deepest regret,
Penny
